During the meeting, Kostanyan said that “this assistance, though modest, reflects Armenia’s appreciation for Lebanon and its people.” He also emphasized “Armenia’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and its aspiration to strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries across various fields.”
For his part, Minister Raggi thanked Armenia for its initiative and praised “the positive and constructive role that Lebanese Armenians have long played in Lebanon, as well as their contributions across various fields.”
Raggi also affirmed “Lebanon’s steadfast support for Armenia in its struggle to achieve its sovereignty, and for the resilience of the Armenian people and their pursuit of independence and freedom.”
The meeting also addressed developments in Lebanon in light of the framework agreement reached under U.S. mediation. Raggi reiterated that “this agreement is not final but rather serves as a basis for continuing negotiations on the standing disputed issues.” Raggi stressed the need to consolidate the ceasefire, secure a full withdrawal, obtain the release of detainees, and negotiate the demarcation of the land border.
