Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his electoral victory.

The letter from PM Babiš was published by Pashinyan’s office.

“Dear Prime Minister, allow me, on behalf of myself and the Czech Republic, to sincerely congratulate you on your victory in the recent parliamentary elections. The results of these elections clearly demonstrate the trust that the citizens of your country have in you. I warmly recall our meeting in Yerevan this May and am pleased that the Republic of Armenia hosted the European Political Community summit, which can be considered successful and was accompanied by a positive international response.

I am confident that, under your leadership, the Republic of Armenia will successfully overcome existing challenges, continue to prosper, and maintain its pro-Western orientation.

Relations between our countries have traditionally been friendly, based on shared values, mutual respect, and close cooperation in a number of areas, particularly trade, transport, and the defense industry. I greatly value this partnership and look forward to our future personal cooperation both bilaterally and within international organizations.

I wish you success, good health, and great strength in carrying out your demanding and responsible duties.”

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
