President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, referring to her visit to the Republic of Armenia on her X page, attached a magnificent photo of Mount Ararat from the Armenian side to her post.
Next to the photo of Ararat, he wrote: “Landing in Yerevan, where the European political community will gather to address continental scale challenges. From security to energy and connectivity. We will also celebrate an important milestone, the Armenia-EU summit being held for the first time.”
The President of the European Commission made the note the day before, immediately after his arrival in Armenia.
The European official is probably not aware that Pashinyan’s government is doing everything to “delete” the image of Ararat, as it did in the case of the sketch of the new RA biometric passports, depicting the 3rd century monastery of Khor Virap from a point of view where Ararat is not visible.
Let’s add that in Yerevan, despite the bans of the RA authorities, protests are taking place, including against the hypocrisy, silence and double standards of the same Ursula von der Leyen.
One poster, for example, depicts Ursula von der Leyen in a coffin with the slogan “Welcome to the resting place of democracy”.
