Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and Chairman of the ministry’s Military-Industrial Committee Aram Jivanyan held a meeting on Wednesday with Egypt’s Ambassador to Armenia Amal Afifi.
According to the ministry’s readout, the sides highly valued the friendly relations between the two countries, emphasizing the strong potential to ensure the continuity of cooperation and to transform historically strong ties into practical, mutually beneficial projects.
The minister presented the Armenian government’s multifaceted programs, initiatives, and measures aimed at developing the high-tech ecosystem. In this context, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan referred to the successful model of the “Seaside Startup Summit,” the activities of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, as well as the construction of an artificial intelligence data center in Hrazdan by the company Firebird AI, highlighting prospects for cooperation and development within these platforms.
The sides also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in R&D, as well as in the high-tech and defense industries. Reference was made to agreements reached during the “EDEX 2025” international exhibition, as well as to the importance of active Egyptian participation in the “Research Innovation Science Engineering” (RISE) exhibition scheduled to take place in Armenia on June 3–4. In the context of deepening cooperation and exchanging experience, the need to organize reciprocal visits was also emphasized.
The sides reaffirmed their commitment to the continued development of cooperation aimed at deepening the bilateral agenda and implementing new joint initiatives.
