There are many political forces in Armenia that are ready for constructive interaction with Russia. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, made this statement during today’s briefing.
According to him, the two countries are united by various ties, history, including civilizational commonality. There is a 2 million Armenian diaspora in Russia.
“We cannot fail to pay attention to the processes unfolding in Armenia and we expect that the pro-Russian forces will be able to freely participate in the expression of the will of RA citizens. It is not about interfering in internal affairs, but that those citizens of Armenia who have the right to vote and are in favor of relations with Russia due to a number of circumstances will also be able to do so in a free, democratic way,” said Zakharova.
According to him, cooperation with Russia is not a business project for those political forces, but a part of the historical essence, the ties that cannot be simply broken or abandoned.
