It’s been more than eight months since the independent enclave of Nagorno Karabakh has been cut off from the rest of the world. The region, populated mainly by Armenians but internationally recognised as belonging to Azerbaijan, is usually connected to Armenia by the Lachin corridor. Despite calls for free movement on this road from the International Court of Justice, the UN Council, and the European Parliament, Baku refuses to open the crossing.
