Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation with RA Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, suggested that the CSTO summit not be held on December 6, and that discussions on the issue of the Secretary General of the organization continue with working procedures. Acting Prime Minister Pashinyan announced this after the campaign in Vayots Dzor.
“I agreed, because I think that it is more correct to solve this issue by working procedures. As a result of the discussions, it turned out that there is no consensus even now, and it makes no sense to repeat the image of Astana, it is not constructive. The arrangement is as follows. we will continue discussions in a working order until we find solutions in a consensus order”, said Pashinyan.
To note, in an earlier interview with the Russian RBC agency, Nikol Pashinyan’s chief adviser Arsen Gasparyan announced that the election of the new CSTO Secretary General will take place in 2019.
