They deny it from the Mother See. Saint Geghard was neither sold nor damaged

The news that the Holy Geghard kept in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiatsin was sold or damaged is false. This was reported by the head of the information system of the Mother See, priest Vahram Melikyan.

“In the near future, it will be brought out for the worship of the believers and our people will see that the all-Christian sanctity is intact and unharmed,” he assured.

To remind, the members of the “New Armenia, New Patriarch” initiative, which invaded the Diwanat building of St. Etchmiadzin demanding the resignation of Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, demanded from the clergy to show them St. Geghard kept in the museum of the Mother Cathedral. The protesters claimed that it had been sold, but in response, Arshak Srbazan told the protesters that it had not been sold, but simply that “a part of Geghard was cut off and given to a Russian mayor”.
