DASARAN.AM TO HAVE NEW SECTION ABOUT MUSEUMS

YEREVAN, April 3. / ARKA Under a memorandum signed today by Armenia’s
ministry of culture and two public organizations – New Generation
School and the Armenian National Committee of ICOM Museums, dasaran.am,
a learning website designed for Armenian school students, will create
a new section dedicated to museums.

The section will offer updated information on national and world
cultural values and museums in Armenia.

After signing the document deputy minister of culture Nerses
Ter-Vardanyan said the memorandum will help schools and museums
strengthen their ties and advocate visiting museums among
schoolchildren.

The founder and head of New Generation School NGO Suren Aloyan said
the new section will contribute to proficient use of information
technology.

The head of the Armenian National Committee of ICOM Museums Marina
Aroyan said special incentive prizes will be offered to the most active
visitors to the section, like free tickets to museums in Armenia and
participation in interactive and informative tours.

Launched in 2010 dasaran.am is designed for monitoring of the learning
process at schools, improving transparency of schools and formation
of communications between parents, students and teachers.-0-

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
