Yerevan /Mediamax/. 9.1% of Turkish citizens who took part in the
survey believe what happened in 1915 was a genocide for which Turkey
should apologize.

The public opinion poll conducted by the Center for Economics and
Foreign Policy Studies (EDAM) comes to prove it.

Another 9.1% of public believe that Turkey should apologize to
Armenians that lost their lives in 1915 but should take no other steps.

12% of the public believe Turkey should express its regret over
Armenians that lost their lives in 1915 but should not apologize.

23.5% of the public believe Turkey should express regret over all
the Ottoman citizens that perished in that period as not everyone who
lost their lives in 1915 were Armenians. EDAM noted that this group
in fact supports Turkey’s stance announced by Prime Minister Erdogan
in his letter to Armenians on April 23, 2014.

21.3% of the public claim Turkey should not take any steps and the 25%
gave no response.
