ARMENIA NOT TO BACK TURKEY AT ICAO COUNCIL ELECTIONS DUE IN 2016

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia won’t back Turkey’s candidacy at the
elections of the Council of International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO) due in 2016.
Head of General Department of Civil Aviation at the Armenian government
Artyom Movsesyan said this during the meeting of European Civil
Aviation Conference (ECAC) in Paris.
Armenia has stated its official stance on the issue before as well.
In his speech, Artyom Movsesyan particularly noted that as before,
Armenia supports the ECAC’s decision to maintain the status quo of
presence of European states in the current ICAO Council staff.
It was decided that the discussions on the issue will continue during
the next meeting of heads of civil aviation structures of the ECAC
member states scheduled in Paris in 2015.
