We give high priority to maintenance of the current trade regime
with Armenia and further development of economic relations, Georgian
Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili told journalists on December 11,
following negotiations with the Armenian governmental delegation
headed by Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan.

“Today’s meeting has once again demonstrated that both countries
want to deepen their mutually beneficial relations. In this light,
the year 2014 has proved to be quite dynamical for Armenia and Georgia
given my official visit to Armenia in August. Though Armenia becomes
a member of the Eurasian Economic Union in January 2015 and Georgia
has signed an Association Agreement with the EU, these arrangements
will by no means affect our relations. Moreover, we will use them in
our countries’ interests”, he stressed.

Hovik Abrahamyan, in turn, reconfirmed the friendly relations between
Armenia and Georgia and pointed out the big unused potential. He also
singled out a number of fields negotiated on in Tbilisi. Abrahamyan
also pointed out the arrangement concerning the upcoming construction
of a Bridge of Friendship at Bagratashen-Sadakhlo checkpoint
