‘Haykakan Zhamanak” says that the process of opening a Carrefour
hypermarket in Yerevan is taking place in a rather tense atmosphere.
Armenian manufacturers say the terms set by Carrefour are very
unfavorable. “In order to accept goods, Carrefour demands discounts
of up to 25% and then reduces discounts to 20-22% during negotiations.
Many manufacturers and suppliers claim that under such conditions
they will suffer losses,” the paper notes.
