ZHOGHOVURD: DECISION TO INSTALL MIKOYAN STATUE REMAINS IN FORCE

On April 30, 2014, the Council of Elders of Yerevan Municipality made
a decision to install the bust of Soviet statesman Anastas Mikoyan in
Yerevan. But the issue triggered a wave of discontent among Yerevan
residents and the matter was left undecided.
Zhoghovurd daily’s correspondent contacted Yerevan Deputy Mayor Kamo
Areyan for comment.
“The decision of Council of Elders remains in force, the statue is
ready, but it is not known when the initiators plan to install it. The
discussions are underway,” Areyan said.
