World Tourism Day Observed In Yerevan On October 6

WORLD TOURISM DAY OBSERVED IN YEREVAN ON OCTOBER 6

YEREVAN, October 7. /ARKA/. An event was held at Yerevan railway
station on the World Tourism Day on Monday October 6.

Armenia’s government is focused on tourism and all initiatives that
help develop the field, the minister of economy Karen Chshmarityan
said at the event.

The first priority is improvement of infrastructures across the
country and the second is hard work to make Armenia more recognizable
and attractive to tourists, the minister said.

During the event, a number of representatives of tourism sector
received gold medals and certificates of gratitude from the country’s
premier and the minister of economy for their contribution.

The World Tourism Day has been observed since 1979 introduced by the
Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization. Armenia became
member of the organization in 1997. -0–
