The information provided by the Armenian and Georgian sides on the
situation on Stepantsminda-Lars highway is not the same. According to
the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, the highway is only
closed for trucks.

However, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of
Georgia, in a telephone conversation with the correspondent of A1+
Company said that the highway is open for all vehicles.

Traffic is still one-sided but the Georgian side says it has not
caused serious traffic jams.

In the meantime, the chairman of the Association of International Road
Carriers of Armenia says the closed highway undermines the development
prospects of our economy. Herbert Hambardzumyan says Armenian trucks
are stuck at Upper Lars right now.
