RULE OF LAW PARTY CONDUCTS RALLY IN YEREVAN

The Rule of Law party, which joined the political opposition after
quitting the coalition government earlier this year on Friday conducted
a rally in Yerevan’s Liberty Square to address the socio-economic
problems in Armenia.
The party’s political board earlier said that their purpose was to
voice serious concerns over the increased prices of electric power.
At a news conference earlier this month, the party’s leader, Artur
Baghdasaryan, called upon the political forces, NGOs and the civil
society to join their public event.
In his speech today, he addressed the problem of migration.
Noting that the event is their first public initiative since quitting
the govening coalition three month ago, Baghdasaryan said they seek
in that way to consolidate co-thinkers over future programs.
The politician further expressed his concerns over the population’s
low living standards in the remote areas.
“My impressions are heavy and void of color, as we see Armenia becoming
emptied of people, with migration assuming increasing scales,” he
said, calling for resolute efforts to avoid losing the motherland
of Armenians.
“The problems accumulated can be resolved by the political forces
that which a vision and target-oriented policies,” Bahdasaryan noted.
He added that the party decided to take sides with the opposition
after seeing its failure to push ahead with its own plans in the
coalition government. “We are here to say no to the chain hikes,”
Baghdasaryan said.
