UNEMPLOYMENT AMONG YOUNG ARMENIANS REACHES 40%

Garik Ayrapetyan, a spokesman of the UN Population Fund in Armenia,
said that the unemployment level of Armenians aged 15-24 was 40%,
aged 18-30 was 18.7%, aged 20-24 was 23.4%. The average level in the
country was 15.4%.
34% of Armenians aged under 24 were unemployed. The average level in
the country was 32.4%.
83.5% of Armenians would leave the country for temporary residence
abroad. 36.8% would leave for good.
Armenia has about 500,000 people aged up to 24 (about 16.5% of the
population).
