Agriculture ministry: Armenia to have 8,000 tons of apricot this year
against 88,800 in 2013

YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. Armenia’s apricot crop will not exceed 8,000
tons this year, while in 2013 the country had 88,800 tons, Deputy
Agriculture Minister Garnik Petrosyan said Friday as presented the
ministry’s outlooks at a new conference.

He said that this decline was due to freezing weather and heavy
snowfalls on March 30.
In his words, apricot exports total 214 tons this year, while a year
before 12,000 were exported by early July.

Petrosyan also said 19,000 tons of potatoes were exported in Jan-June
2014 against 7,000 tons in the same period a year before, and also
1,523 tons of early potatoes, while in 2013 no early potatoes were
exported..-0—-
