The Canadian genre festival is also giving world bows to Richard
Bates Jr.’s “Suburban Gothic” and Dan Bush’s “The Reconstruction of
William Zero.”

TORONTO – The Canadian genre-driven Fantasia International Film
Festival is to open with writer-director Riad Sattouf’s Jacky in the
Kingdom of Women.

The political comedy starring Charlotte Gainsbourg, Noemie Lvovsky
and Oscar winner Michel Hazanavicius debuted in Rotterdam and will
receive a Canadian premiere in Montreal.

Fantasia organizers on Thursday also said they booked world premieres
for Richard Bates Jr.’s Suburban Gothic, Leo Gabriadze’s Cybernatural,
Jean Luc Herbulot’s thriller Dealer, Armenian director Aik Karapetian’s
The Man in the Orange Jacket, Sarah Adina Smith’s The Midnight Swim,
Dan Bush’s The Reconstruction of William Zero, starring Conal Byrne
and Amy Seimetz.

There’s also international bows for Kevin Finn and James D. Rolfe’s
Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, John McNaughton’s The Harvest,
starring Samantha Morton and Peter Fonda, and Ralph Ziman’s Kite.

The Fantasia International Film Festival, to run from July 17 to
August 5 in Montreal, will make additional lineup announcements in
the coming weeks.
