ARMENIA’S MEMBERSHIP IN EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION VERY IMPORTANT TO BELARUS GIVEN BOTH COUNTRIES’ DEPENDENCE ON IMPORT OF ENERGY RESOURCES

YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic
Union is very important to Belarus, since both countries depend on
import of energy resources, Vadim Gigin, chief editor of Belorusskaya
Dumka magazine, said on Friday in Novosti International Press Center.

“Russia and Kazakhstan are oil-exporting countries, while we and
Armenia are importers, and after Armenia joins the union interests
will balance out – there will be two large resource-based economies
and two importers,” he said.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, speaking at a session of the
Eurasian Economic Council, said that Armenia intends to join the
