YEREVAN. – The dynamics of the socioeconomic development in Armenia
can be assessed negatively for the year 2013.

Opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party National Assembly Faction member
Artsvik Minasyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As per the MP, not solely have the indicators, which the authorities
had noted, not been fulfilled, but a regression was recorded in
economic growth and in the people’s living standards, alike, in the
year that passed. .

Minasyan added that it is very difficult to forecast, at present, how
Armenia’s future accession to the Russian-led Customs Union will
reflect on the country and its economy.

`We have set up a commission, which is examining the conformity of the
laws of ours and of the Customs Union. The commission will also submit
Armenia’s requirements in terms of socioeconomic development in
Armenia.

`We can provisionally say that entering the Customs Union may both
give major advantages and lead to losses for Armenia,’ Artsvik
Minasyan stated.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
