The UK Ambassadors to Armenia Jonathan Aves and Kathy Leach summed up
the year in terms of UK-Armenia relations.

It was a very productive year in Armenian-British relations,
Ambassador Aves said, pointing out three major events: a visit of
Prince Charles to Armenia, the British Days in Armenia that included
the whole range of interesting and fun activities across the fields of
culture, business and politics, and finally the money raised for Byron
school in Gyumri.

`I am really looking forward to another productive and exciting year
in British-Armenian relation,’ he said.

Ambassador Kathy Leach wished all Armenians, both in Armenia and
across the world and Britain as well, a wonderful holiday for New Year
and Christmas period.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
