ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT BOYCOTTS BILL ON RECOGNITION OF NAGORNO KARABAKH’S INDEPENDENCE BY ARMENIA

Baku – APA. Most of the factions in the Armenian parliament have
boycotted the vote on the bill on the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh’s
independence by Armenia, APA reports quoting Novosti Armenia.

Head of Heritage party faction Zaruhi Postanjyan said 10 voted for
the bill, one abstained, no one voted against.

Prior to the voting, Zaruhi Postanjyan wanted to emphasize once more
the importance of the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh’s “independence”
by Armenia, but speaker Hovik Abrahamyan ordered to turn off her
microphone.

Head of the ruling Republican Party’s parliamentary faction Galust
Sahakyan and secretary of Prosperous Armenia party’s parliamentary
faction Naira Zohrabyan said they won’t participate in the voting.

Head of Armenian National Congress parliamentary faction Levon Zurabyan
said they support recognition of Nagorno Karabakh’s “independence”
by Armenia, but it is not yet time to take this step and said they
will not participate in the voting.

Earlier, faction of Dashnaktsutyun party said they would vote for
the bill.
