AMERICANS HUNT ENDANGERED ARMENIAN MOUFLON

YEREVAN. – A married couple from the United States hunted endangered
mouflon in Armenia.

The police prepared a report based on a video-titled “Foreigners go
hunting in Armenia and kill Armenian Mouflon registered in the Red
Book [of endangered and protected species]”-that was posted on an
electronic news media, informs the Police Department of Media.

According to the report, a completely banned animal hunting-i.e., the
illegal hunting of a Bezoar Goat-was conducted in Vayots Dzor Region,
at a period between December 9 and 18, 2009, and with an illegally
acquired firearm. The hunting was carried out by US citizens, married
couple B. K. and Sh. B., who had arrived in Armenia.

A criminal case is initiated into the incident.
