FRENCH STUDENTS MARCH IN SOLIDARITY WITH ARMENIAN STUDENT DEPORTED FROM FRANCE

On October 12, high school student Khatchik Kachatryan was deported
from France at the request of Armenia because he must do his military
service.

This morning, thousands of French students marched in solidarity
with Khatchik from the Place de la Nation in Paris to the Ministry
of Interior, demanding the return of the 19 year-old, a student at
the Camille Jenatzy School.

Students demanding the resignation of Interior Minister Manuel Valls
have been blocked more than 20 schools They are concerned about the
Khatchik’s case, as he leaves his parents and other family members
in France.

He is the first Parisian schoolboy deported from France since August
2006.
