Armenian prime minister postpones visit to U.S.

YEREVAN. Oct 4

The visit of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian to the United
States has been postponed upon the U.S. request.

“The Armenian prime minister was to go to Washington on September
9-13, however due to the existing situation in the U.S. related to the
suspension of financing of state agencies, the visit has been
postponed upon the U.S. request,” Sargsian’s press secretary Arutyun
Kbeian told Interfax.

The Armenian prime minister was to participate in meetings of the
World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Armenian-U.S.
intergovernmental committee for economic cooperation.

According to Kbeian, Minister-Chief of Staff Vache Gabrelian will
represent Armenia at the events planned.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
