JOINT PAIN MONUMENT TO BE ERECTED IN DIYARBEKIR

YEREVAN, AUGUST 14, ARMENPRESS: The mayor of the Municipality of
Sur in the city of Diyarbekir (Tigranakert), Southeast Turkey,
Abdullah DemirbaÅ~_ announced that they decided to erect a Joint
Pain Monument in Diyarbekir commemorating the innocent Armenians,
Assyrians, Kurdish, Muslims and Jewish killed during the genocide in
the Eastern and South-Eastern regions of the country.
This was published by the Turkish Milliyet Newspaper, as reported
by Armenpress.
According to the Newspaper, on this occasion Abdullah DemirbaÅ~_
told the journalists that “instead of competing in our pains, we
should unite and put an end to them”. “That is why we should erect
a monument of a joint conscience, which will be the symbol of our
facing the past. We should present Diyarbekir as a center of nations
and beliefs by it”, – said the mayor of the Municipality of Sur in the
city of Diyarbekir (Tigranakert), Southeast Turkey, Abdullah DemirbaÅ~_
