AN INCIDENT HAPPENED IN FRONT OF THE YEREVAN MAYOR’S OFFICE AT NIGHT – UNKNOWN PERSONS BEAT UP ACTIVISTS

One of the activists holding a picket in front of the Yerevan Mayor’s
Office and protesting because of hiking public transport fare, Mihran
Melkonyan, was detained.
However, deputy chief of the Armenian police, Valeriy Osipyan. assured
that Melkonyan’s detaining is not linked with his participation in
the protest action, he is suspected in the crime.
To note, activists reported earlier that at night the people,
introducing themselves like employers of the Mayor’s Office, beat
up several activists. However, policemen did nothing to prevent
such actions.
