ARMENIAN CONSTRUCTION WORK IN FIRST HALF DROPS BY 8.8 PERCENT TO 123.3 BILLION DRAMS

YEREVAN, August 13. / ARKA /. Some 123.8 billion drams worth
construction work was done in Armenia in the first six months of 2013,
a decrease of 8.8% compared to the same period last year, according
to the latest numbers, released by National Statistical Service.

Some 35 billion drams worth construction was financed by individuals.

It made 28.4% of the total construction work. The figure represented
a 16.9 percent growth from the year before.

Also some 46.5 billion drams worth construction work was financed
by organizations (48.6% of the total construction work), a decline
of 10.6% compared to the first six months of 2012. Some 2.7 billion
drams worth construction was financed via humanitarian assistance
(2.3% of the total volume), a decline of 27.1% from the year before.

International loans were used to finance 5.7 billion drams worth
construction work (a decline of 44.9%) and 16 billion drams worth
construction work was financed by the government (13% of the
total volume) a decline of 17%. The rest – 3.6 billion drams worth
construction work -was financed by communities, a decline of 22.8%
