MARK PETROSYAN’S CIVIL FUNERALS TO TAKE PLACE AT ST. JOHN CHURCH

YEREVAN, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS. The civil funerals of the champion of
the Public TV Company of the Republic of Armenia, Merited Artist Mark
Petrosyan will take place at 18.00 on August 8 in Yerevan’s St. John
Church. The Public Relations Department of “The First Channel” informed
“Armenpress” that the Armenian society will bid last farewell to Mark
Petrosyan at 12:00-14:00 on August 9 at the Chamber Music House.

Mark Petrosyan was one of the few who are in TV industry from its
commencement. He started as sound director, music designer, and then
for nearly 25 years was the chief editor of musical programs.

In November 1956 nearly 400 people participated in TV-staff
recruiting contest. Mark Petrosyan was selected as the chief of
musical department. People call him simply Mark: “Mark’s program”,
“Mark’s saying”, “Mark’s book”, “Mark’s…” Possessing interesting
personality, friendly and restless, hot-tempered, sensitive as a
child, often obstinate and stubborn he was a real professional and
a figure in Armenian TV industry. Mark Petrosyan was the author of
Golden Screen TV-show devoted to classical  music airing consecutively
for 2 years from 1957, as well as the manager and editor of the 1968
program devoted to the 2759 anniversary  of Yerevan. The program was
broadcasted by Moscow Central television in Russia and Intervidenie
network in Eastern European countries. 

Mark Petrosyan initiated and participated in the filming of a movie
dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founder of Armenian classical
opera  Al. Spendyaryan, a program devoted to Sayat-Nova’s 275th
anniversary and other programs depicting lives and creative paths
of Aram Khachatryan,  Arno Babajanyan, Ohan Duryan, Pavel Lisitsyan
and other prominent Armenian musicians. The biggest reward in his
life Mark Petrosyan considered  his friendship with Aram Khachatryan,
M. Rostropovich, Tariverdiev, Eduard Mirzoyan, Lusine Zakaryan, Zaruhi
Dolukhanyan, Bashmet, Spivakov  and a number of other renowned artists.
