ANOTHER ARMENIAN DIED IN DAMASCUS

YEREVAN, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS: Because of car blast in Jaramana suburb
of Syrian capital Damascus died another Armenian. “Armenpress” was
informed from editor in chief of “Azdag” newspaper Sahan Gandaharian
that it became clear that among victims there is an Armenian man –
Sargis Meresjyan born in 1966 who had been in the buss. The funerals
will take place in Armenian Church Saint Sargis.
In result of ongoing clashes in Syria which last for already 16 months
17 192 citizens died. According to Arabian media 11 897 of them are
peaceful citizens and 4348 security staff. Among the victims there
are six Armenians and two of them were soldiers of Syrian army. Many
Syrians leave the country, Syrian Armenians also leave the country. In
Armenia applications from Syria to receive refuge status or asylum
are dealt with accelerated procedure during ten days.
