AZERI POLICE DISPERSE QUDS DAY RALLY OUTSIDE ISRAELI EMBASSY

Police in Azerbaijan have dispersed a protest rally outside the Israeli
embassy in Baku on 2 August, private Turan news agency reported.

The protest was held on the occasion of the international Quds Day,
Turan said, adding that around 50 Muslim believers took part in it.

The protesters were chanting “Freedom to Quds and Karabakh. May the
invaders perish!”, Fakt Xeber website reported on 2 August.

The website said that the protesters are members of the Azerbaijani
Islamic Party, putting the number of protesters at 100. Most of the
protesters were detained, the report added.

Fakt Xeber also carried a two-minute video, showing the police
dispersing the protesters and forcing them into vehicles.
