Sit-In Continued In Darkness

SIT-IN CONTINUED IN DARKNESS

Activists protesting in front of the City Hall for four days running
tell that last night the street lights went off, and they spent whole
night in darkness. Instead, no other unusual incidents happened, and
the sit-in passed quietly. The irrigation system was also switched off
last night though on the previous few days it worked all day round,
watering not only the lawn but also the pavement, and the activists
could not sit or stand near the City Hall.

The activists said they have agreed with the City Hall staff that
irrigation will be turned on at specific hours of the day. They will
agree on the hour.

The participants of the sit-in are going to apply to the City Hall
to get chairs because they cannot spend all night on foot. Note that
the young activists demand the resignation of the head of transport
department of the City Hall Henrik Navasardyan and director of
Yerevantrans Misak Hambardzumyan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
