CIVIC GROUP CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE REMOVAL OF YEREVAN CHIEF ARCHITECT

The civic group “Our City” has publicly called for the immediate
removal of Yerevan Chief Architect Narek Sargsyan, accusing the
official of heading a group in the municipality bent on destroying
the historical legacy of the Armenian capital.

The group argues that such destruction is greeted with applause by
“Turks and Azeris desperately striving to prove that Yerevan is a
Turkish city.”

“Our City” states that the time has come to rid the municipality’s
urban construction and architecture departments of people like Narek
Sargsyan who have monopolized the system for so many years.
