Clients of the Tonus company, who made prepayments for flats in a
new building and were deceived, are holding a protest in front of
the Armenian government.

Alexander Ghazaryan, Head of the Letter and Complaints Department,
came up to them, but his attempt to talk to them caused an argument.

The citizens accused the government of lying to them.

Some of the protesters were invited to the Ministry of Finance. The
citizens made prepayments for 120 flats and signed contracts for
seven years. However, the company has since deceived them.

The company caused damage to 155 citizens. The company owner, Ashot
Tonoyan, who was an MP from the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP),
told them he had gone bankrupt.

The citizens are presenting their demands to Armenia’s government.

“They have not done anything for us. They have been lying to us for
seven years,” one of the citizens, Karina Nalbandyan, told Tert.am.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
