YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS: The Government of the Republic of
Armenia continues the negotiations with the company Rosneft on the
issue of the Nairit Plant. This was stated by the Minister of Energy
and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Armen Movsisyan at
the briefing with the journalists in Armavir, where the Government’s
session is held. “The discussions have not been completed yet. The
general background is positive”, – said Armen Movsisyan. As reported
by Armenpress, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the
Republic of Armenia assured that there is not any problematic issue
in the negotiations with Rosneft.

The total debt of the Nairit Plant is 100 million AMD. The Ministry
of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia prepared
a Reconstruction and Development Investment Plan for Nairit CJSC.

In 2006 the Rhinoville Property Limited international company purchased
90% of the shares of the Nairit Plant CJSC. The other 10% belong to the
Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia.

The Nairit Plant CJSC was established in 1940. On December 1 2008 the
work of the Plant was stopped because of the financial crisis. About
1,500 employees were dismissed.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
