Alex Keledjian to run for PCC Board

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE – Alexander Keledjian announced that he will seek
election to the Pasadena Area Community College District Board of
Trustees for Area 1. Area 1 includes the City of La Cañada Flintridge,
the Linda Vista and San Rafael neighborhoods of West Pasadena, and the
Western portion Altadena.

`I believe that the Board needs a change and I believe that I am that
breath of fresh air,’ stated Keledjian.

Keledjian has experience that stems deep within the La Cañada
Flintridge community. He is the former student board member of the La
Cañada Unified School District Board of Education. Board President
Scott Tracy stated, `Alex demonstrated great maturity and effective
communication skills as our student representative on the La Cañada
Unified Governing Board during his senior year. I believe Alex was
one of the strongest student reps during my twelve years on the board.
That is the reason why Alex has my support for the PCC Board of
Trustees.’

In addition to his service on the Board of Education, Keledjian was
also a La Cañada Flintridge Youth Commissioner. The La Cañada
Flintridge Youth Council is a city commission that uses taxpaying
dollars to benefit the youth of the city.

After entering Pasadena City College as a student, Keledjian
immediately became involved with the Associated Students of Pasadena
City College. He served as a member of the Finance and Lobby
Committee.

Keledjian has also received the support of two high profile leaders,
former California Governor George Deukmejian and former Glendale
Community College Superintendent/President John Davitt, who is also a
La Cañada Flintridge resident.

Deukmejian stated, `Alex has experience, maturity, and knowledge that
is beyond his years. I believe that those three components will make
Alex the leader of this next generation. Former GCC President Davitt
said, `As the former president of Glendale Community College , I know
the qualities that are needed in a trustee. Alex has those qualities.
He has the maturity and drive to make sure that Pasadena City College
receives the right representation and leader.’

Keledjian was recently endorsed by Los Angeles County Supervisor
Michael Antonovitch.

`With his commitment to improving the college experience for students
in Pasadena, Alex Keledjian will be a positive addition to the
Pasadena City College Board of Trustees,’ said Antonovitch.

`What an honor,’ stated Keledjian. `I have deep respect for Supervisor
Antonovich and I am very happy to have his unequivocally support.’

Keledjian has also received substantial amount of support from the
community. He has garnered the endorsements of all 5 members of the La
Cañada Unified School District Board of Education, including 5 former
school board members and the current student board member – the first in
history of La Cañada Flintridge politics, according to Keledjian.

`No candidate has ever received the amount of broad support as I have.
I believe that the community has seen my results of being involved in
the community and as a result, supports my candidacy,’ he said.

The election is to take place on November 5, 2013.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
