GREECE TO DISCUSS GENOCIDE DENIAL CRIMINALIZATION BILL

PanARMENIAN.Net – A draft law envisaging criminalization and a penalty
for denial and distortion of the facts of genocides was submitted to
Greek parliament.

The draft law was readied as a counter discrimination measure. The
bill stipulates for 3-36 months’ imprisonment or a fine of 5-20
thousand euro for denial of genocides.

Greek parliament recognized the genocide of Pontic Greeks, the
Armenian Genocide and the Greek genocide in Asia Minor in 1994, 1996
and 1998 respectively.
