Stone Cross Commemorating 25th Anniversary of Sumgait Pogrom Unveiled in Beirut

A stone cross (khachkar) commemorating the 25th anniversary of the
Armenian pogrom in Sumgait was officially unveiled yesterday in the
courtyard of the Saint Nshan Armenian Apostolic Church in Beirut.
The event was organized by the Armenian Genocide 100th Anniversary
Committee of Lebanon, the Pyunik All-Armenian Fund and the RA Embassy
in Lebanon.
Archbishop Geham Khacheryan, Primate of the Lebanese Diocese, officiated.
Minister of State Panos Manjian, Lebanese MPs and representatives of
the Armenian community attended.
