Gagik Beglaryan: You’re The Oligarch
`Besides being on good terms with the government should the oligarchy
also put pressure?’ the minister of transport and communication Gagik
Beglaryan answered the question of journalists with a question. The
reporters inquired whether he agrees that the oligarchs influence
decision making by the government. `Each oligarch is trying to be on
good terms with the government,’ the minister said.
In other words, is this how oligarchs survive in Armenia?
I don’t know but my personal opinion is: how could an oligarch
influence the government? Never. Nowhere in the world.
But in Armenia the government and oligarchy are coalesced.
You are clinging to words, coalesced, I don’t know what else. Speak
with facts. If coalesced is the same as engrafted, they never get a
good harvest from engraftment, let alone coalescence.
Do you consider yourself an oligarch?
No.
Who is an oligarch in Armenia?
You.
