EARTHQUAKE IN IRAN FELT IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, APRIL 18, ARMENPRESS. The earthquake in Iran was also felt in
the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The Ministry of Emergency
Situations of the Republic of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that they
received information from the Seismic Agency at 15.14 o’clock on April
18, that at 14.39 o’clock by local time a 4.7 magnitude earthquake hit
Iran in a distance of 45 km to the West from Khoy city of the Islamic
Republic of Iran. The strength of the earthquake was 6 points in the
epicenter. The hypocenter of the earthquake was 15 km.

The earthquake was registered in a number of the regions in the
Republic of Armenia. Among them are Meghri, Kapan, Jermuk, and
Yeghegnadzor. The strength of the earthquake was 3-4 points.
