The Union of Armenians of Ukraine is getting prepared for the first
historic congress in the country in 2014. As of the moment the union
is clarifying the lists of participants, analitika.at.ua reports.
The conduction of this unprecedented event for Armenians of the
Ukraine is of consolidation significance as for the first time tens
of representatives of the Armenian Diaspora of Ukraine will gather
in the same place.
Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine Vilen Shatvoryan said
there is a real need of conduction of such event. “Armenian community
of Ukraine is quite integrated in different spheres of the country. We
are very interested in presentation of new ideas, new proposals for
more dynamic development of our community,” he said.
Armenian community of Ukraine has history of centuries. The first
Armenians appeared in the territory of the current Ukraine in 11-12th
centuries.
