Turkmen leader congratulates his Armenian counterpart on re-election

Today the president of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, had a
telephone conversation with the president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

The head of our state warmly welcomed his colleague and once again
congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on his victory at elections and
inauguration for the new term and wished him sound health and great
successes on the important and responsible state post.

The Armenian president expressed gratitude for congratulations and
kind words and passed best wishes to the fraternal Turkmen people and
confirmed his country’s adherence to the course of overall
strengthening and expanding of traditionally friendly and many-sided
cooperation with Turkmenistan.

During the conversation, the sides discussed the state of and
prospects for developing interstate relations, as well as exchanged
opinions on urgent international and regional issues of mutual
interest.

The presidents of Turkmenistan and Armenia noted the presence of huge
potential in cooperation and paid particular attention to the
implementation of earlier reached agreements and spoke in favour of
boosting partnership in trade and economic, transport, energy and
other spheres.
