YOUNG PEOPLE STAGE ‘HELLO SIT-IN’ IN ARMENIA’S CAPITAL

A number of Heritage party members, as well as a number of unaffiliated
young people, announced a “hello sit-in” in Yerevan’s Freedom Square.
They demand Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation.
David Sanasaryan, a young Heritage party member, told journalists
that it is an open-ended action.
“We are going to sit-in until Serzh Sargsyan has announced his
resignation,” he said. They not only hope, but are also determined
to gain victory.
Asked if the sit-in may turn into a hunger strike, Mr Sanasaryan said:
“Everything is possible. But we consider it necessary to hold a youth
sit-in now.”
Heritage party Chairman Raffi Hovannisian went on a hunger strike
last Sunday and is ready to stay in Freedom Square until April 9.
