YEREVAN. – In 2012, three European airline companies suspended their
flights to Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, Armenian Association of
Travel Agents (AATA) Deputy Chairman Yeghishe Tanashyan told Armenian
News-NEWS.am.

Specifically, British Airways, Lot Polish Airlines, and airBaltic of
Latvia decided to no longer conduct flights to Yerevan.

As per Tanashyan, as a result of these flights, Armenia was having
air transportation with a variety of solvency.

According to the AATA Deputy Chairman, the reasons for the
suspension of these flights are the high fees charged by Yerevan’s
ZvartnotsInternationalAirport and the non-free air space.

At present, the prices of tickets for flights from Armenia to Eastern
Europe have increased by 20-25 percent as compared to previous years.
