Mountain Climbing is Taking Off in Armenia

The Armenian Alpinism and Mountain Tourism Federation just marked its
second anniversary. .

The Federation says mountain climbing and related sports activities
have taken off in Armenia.

A sky-running contest was held for the first time. .

Armenian mountain climbers reached the peaks of Mt. Demavend in Iran,
Kazbek and Ushba in Georgia, as well as Elbrus and Ararat.

The RA Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs has recognized the
Alpinism and Mountain Sports Federation as a national federation.
