SECRETARY OF PROSPEROUS ARMENIA FACTION SEES NO REASONS TO JOIN RULING COALITION

The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) sees no reasons to join the ruling
coalition, PAP Faction Secretary Naira Zohrabyan told journalists
on Thursday.
In the meantime, she thinks that it is necessary to provide the
opposition with certain levers of control in the state structures. To
note, this issue was discussed during today’s meeting of the heads of
Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun Factions Rouben Hakobyan and Armen
Rustamyan and Speaker of Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan. The
PAP representatives took no part in the discussion.
Zohrabyan said that the PAP will wait until the specified forces and
the ruling Republican Party of Armenia come to a consensus about the
format of debates and only then will present its suggestions. “We also
advocate switching to the parliamentary regime and 100% proportional
electoral system, but at the same time, we disagree with the opposition
factions’ opinion that it is necessary to hold snap parliamentary
election”, she said and added that it is her personal opinion and
the given issue was not discussed by the PAP.
