Passions run high at Pan-Armenian National Movement congress

YEREVAN.- An extraordinary congress of Pan-Armenian National Movement
is being held on Saturday in Yerevan.

Movement members express dissatisfaction with an intention to rename
the movement as “Armenian National Congress Party.”

The party convened a congress to discuss renaming of the movement and
formation of Armenian National Congress Party. The members were handed
in the draft decision.

A few days ago, 28 people applied to the Ministry of Justice to create
a party called “Armenian National Congress.” Talking to Armenian
News-NEWS.am Petros Makeyan, leader of Democratic Homeland Party, said
a new party is not created. Only the name of the Pan-Armenian
National Movement will be changed.
