RAFFI HOVANNISIAN TO WAIT FOR SERZH SARGSYAN IN LIBERTY SQUARE AS LONG AS NECESSARY

Heritage Party Leader Raffi Hovannisian says that he will wait
for Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Liberty Square as long as
necessary, ArmInfo’s correspondent reports.
He said that Liberty Square belongs to people, but tomorrow the square
will be reserved for Serzh Sargsyan. He added that he is going to wait
for Serzh Sargsyan till 2 pm, Feb 21. He is expecting Sargsyan to come
and hand the power to the people. “I lay down no other conditions. I
was ready to conduct a dialogue with the authorities, but unfortunately
this dialogue failed”, he said and added that Sargsyan’s Spokesperson
made a senseless proposal to him. To note, the number of people in
the Square is still increasing.
Earlier on Wednesday, Serzh Sargsyan’s Spokesperson Armen Arzumanyan
said that Serzh Sargsyan had always expressed his willingness to meet
with all political forces and their leaders if necessary. “This case
is no exception, especially as the matter concerns the politician,
who has gained the second place in the presidential race. The
President is ready to receive Raffi Hovannisian at his convenience”,
Arzumanyan said.
To note, according to the preliminary results of the election,
the incumbent President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan obtained 58.64%
(861,160 votes), the leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian –
36.75% (539,672).
